Meet Abby
Abby Fox (she/her), LCMHC | Therapist
We’re a good fit if... you are open to evaluating your relationship with food and/or your body. You do not need to know if you want to change anything by starting therapy with me. Your first session can be the beginning of behavioral change, or it can merely be a space for you to share your story, be asked good questions, and consider your options.
My ideal client is... someone who struggles with an eating disorder, disordered eating, and/or body image. Often co-occuring with disordered eating, I am drawn to working with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, identity issues, and/or past trauma. I have a special interest in working with clients who are preoccupied with ‘healthy’ eating and/or exercise, and with clients who are former athletes learning how to rebuild an identity outside of their sport.
I create safety and build rapport by... recognizing and affirming my clients’ unique identities, values, and lived experiences. I bring warmth, compassion, thoughtfulness, honesty, curiosity, and commitment to the therapeutic relationship. I welcome your full humanness in sessions, with the understanding that it may take time and trust to get there. At any point in therapy, I encourage discussion about our relationship. I view my work with clients as a collaborative partnership in which feedback goes both ways.
Three things I love: a hot cup of coffee, my extraverted doodle, and psychological thrillers (books and binge-worthy shows)
